US, Los Angeles: Westlake Juvenile Mini Bike Rider Killed in Hit and Run Collision

10/28/2024 01:30 am (GMT-0700) | WESTLAKE, LOS ANGELES – LAPD Rampart officers and LAFD responded to reports of a vehicle versus mini bike at the intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Arapahoe Street.
When first responders arrived at the scene, they found the mini bike rider lying on the street. The rider was later pronounced deceased at the scene after attempted lifesaving measures by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.
The Los Angeles Police Department's West Traffic Division detectives are investigating the fatal collision, determined to be a hit-and-run.
An LAPD press release of the incident states that a male juvenile was riding a motorized "pocket bike" northbound on Arapahoe Street approaching Olympic Boulevard when he lost control and slid into the intersection. The suspect vehicle, traveling eastbound on Olympic, collided with the victim. The suspect fled the scene, failing to stop and render aid as required by law.
There is no suspect information, according to the LAPD.
