This is the moment a passenger jumps out of a tram window to escape the ticket controller but accidentally drops his passport in his failed attempt to dodge the fare.

Footage shows the Moldovan man dramatically squeezing through the window as it comes to a halt at a station in Brno, in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic.

However, his attempt to evade the controller fails when he drops his passport on his way out. The clip ends with the controller picking up the passport and waving it in the man's face, who sheepishly tries to ask for it back.

Local media reported on October 17 that the document was handed over to police, which quickly led to his identification.

In the Czech Republic, the fine for travelling without a ticket is CZK 1,500 (GBP 50), reduced to CZK 1,000 (GBP 32) if paid immediately.
