Out-of-control pickup car crashes into coffee shop
This is the shocking moment an out-of-control pickup truck crashed into a coffee shop.
The driver Paithoon, 43, had allegedly dozed off while manoeuvring the road, causing his Toyota Revo pickup truck to slam into the Cafe Amazon coffee shop in Rayong, Thailand, on October 27.
CCTV footage shows the black truck accelerating toward the building through the glass panes, damaging tables and chairs. It eventually stopped when it hit the wall, causing estimated damage of more than million baht (approximately 22,843 GBP).
Police Lieutenant Colonel Samai Sadee of Maptaphut Police Station received a report of the incident, prompting officers to rush to the scene. They reportedly found that the car had crashed into the front of the shop, creating a large opening with shattered glass and items scattered on the floor.
They also discovered that the parking sign had been damaged in the collision.
The owner, Sinatchai Sakcharoen, 41, expressed confusion about how the pickup truck crashed into the shop, as it is located far from the road.
His wife, Ruthirada Khiaosopha, 38, said that she and her husband were on a trip to Khao Chuk Reservoir when they received the news.
They rushed to the scene and felt deeply saddened upon learning about the incident.
Authorities reported that during questioning, Paithoon admitted that he dozed off, causing him to lose control of his vehicle before crashing into the sign and the shop.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Samai said: ‘We charged the driver with reckless driving causing damage to another person's property and will proceed with legal action.'
