A Chinese former bank boss was arrested in Thailand over a six million dollar fraud case in China.

The suspect Wang Luan Fa, 49, reportedly forged documents to obtain 45 million yuan (around 6.3 million USD) of loans at the bank where he worked as a deputy manager in Hebei province, China.

He fled to Thailand and was detained at a hotel in Pattaya on October 25 afternoon.

Police Colonel Napatpong Kositsuriyamanee, superintendent of the Chonburi Immigration Bureau, said the arrest was made following a tip-off from the Chinese Embassy that Wang was hiding in the Thai 'Sin City'.

He said: 'The suspect confessed that he had fled to Thailand through the Cambodian border and had been living in Chonburi for around two months. He claimed he defrauded the bank because he needed money to clear his debts.'

Police also found Wang had around 5,000 USD in cash in his room. He was taken to the Nong Prue Police Station for legal proceedings.

On October 7, Thai police also arrested a female Chinese fugitive accused of scamming job seekers out of 1.52 million yuan (212,879 USD).

Jing Qu, 30, reportedly offered her victims sought-after flight attendant jobs at several famous airlines in exchange for cash. However, she allegedly made off with the money, which she used for cosmetic surgeries to alter her appearance.

Police arrested her following a tip-off about a 'suspicious' Chinese guest staying at a luxury condominium in the Phra Ram 4 area of Bangkok.
