Woman hosts epic Shrek-themed party for her 25th birthday
A woman celebrated her birthday by throwing an epic Shrek-themed party.
Patrycja Sobkowiak, 25, has been a fan of the animation films since she was little and has watched all four dozens of times.
For the occasion, Patrycja dressed as Doris the Ugly Stepsisters and all of her 13 guests also decked out as their favorite Shrek characters.
In attendance were the Fairy Godmother, Captain Hook, Fiona, Puss in Boots, the Three Blind Mice and may more iconic characters from the Shrek series.
Patrycja, a bioinformatics engineer from Krepice, Poland said: "It was my dream to have a themed birthday."
"I've loved Shrek forever so this felt like the perfect way to celebrate turning 25."
In the weeks leading up to the event, Patrycja meticulously planned themed decorations.
She named the drinks area The Poison Apple in reference to the tavern where villains gather to drink alcoholic beverage in Shrek.
She also had a Far Far Away sign modeled after the Hollywood sign.
The menu was just as whimsical with Shrek-inspired treats like "Dragon Eyes" - eggs with mayonnaise - in reference to Dragon, a character from the Shrek franchise"
Guests also enjoyed "Happily Ever After Potion" and "Mud Bath" - a chocolate fondue - in reference to Shrek's swamp."
Patrycja estimates the entire event cost around £287 (1500 PLN).
Patrycja said: "My friends loved it. They said they'd never been to such a beautifully decorated party."
"After a month of planning, I couldn't be happier with how it turned out!"
