A restaurant toilet at a holiday island in the Philippines has no door and requires customers to put up an occupied sign.

Footage shows the unusual loo covered by walls of bamboo poles with concrete steps leading to the bowl in Siquijor on September 20.

There was no panel covering the entrance, but a small wooden marker hanging by the entryway said 'occupied'.

Tourist Trixie Mae Burio said it was one of the most unique comfort rooms she had used so far.

She said: 'I travel a lot, but it was the first toilet I have been to that has no door.'
