Floods washed away cars amid heavy rain in Spain on Tuesday.

Footage shows the raging deluge sweeping away a vehicle and submerging buildings in Utiel, Valencia, on October 29.

Authorities said torrential rains from a cold front in the country's southeast flooded roads and towns.

The State Meteorological Agency issued a red alert for the eastern Valencia region, with areas like Turis and Utiel recording 200 mm (7.9 inches) of rainfall.

Officials reported that at least seven people were missing. They were a truck driver in the Valencia region and six individuals in the town of Letur in the eastern province of Albacete.

Some climate change believers claim that greenhouse gas emissions from human activities are increasing the frequency and severity of extreme weather events, including torrential rains and floods.
