A train carriage caught fire, injuring passengers in India.

Footage shows the vehicle, which was travelling from Jind to Delhi via Bahadurgarh and Sampla, engulfed in smoke on October 28.

Reports indicate the fire broke out near Rohtak, Haryana, on Monday night after a passenger's firecrackers exploded.

Police said that preliminary information suggests a short circuit in an electrical appliance on the train may have caused firecrackers carried by a passenger to ignite.

The government has brought in forensic specialists to investigate the area, and further research is underway.

Three passengers reportedly sustained minor injuries in the incident.
