On October 26, in Ningbo, Zhejiang, a collision between two vehicles resulted in one car overturning, trapping the driver inside. In this critical moment, a bus driver, passengers, and several bystanders rushed in to help.

Surveillance footage captured the incident at an intersection, where a light truck and a black sedan collided. Neither driver slowed down before impact, causing the black sedan to flip onto its side in the middle of the road, trapping the driver inside. Bus driver Mr. Tong witnessed the accident while passing by and immediately stopped his bus to assist.

Mr. Tong, along with his passengers, hurried to the crash site to aid in the rescue. According to Mr. Tong, the trapped man seemed disoriented and attempted to exit through the open door, but his body was tightly secured by the seatbelt. As more bystanders joined, Mr. Tong recalls, “The door was open, but he couldn’t climb out. One person suggested pulling him out, but I advised against it to prevent any secondary injuries. We then shattered the glass and helped him out.”

Thanks to their quick teamwork, the man was rescued within five minutes and promptly taken to the hospital, where he is now out of danger. Investigation revealed that the high traffic flow during the morning rush had led to the intersection lights flashing yellow. Neither driver slowed down as required, resulting in the collision.

According to Officer Chen Ke from Fenghua District Traffic Police, both drivers were at fault to varying degrees. The truck driver failed to stop and observe at the intersection, and the sedan driver, who also did not yield to the right, was primarily responsible for the crash. Officer Chen emphasized the importance of stopping and checking for oncoming traffic at flashing yellow intersections and yielding to vehicles from the right.
