Horror enthusiast turns herself into scary characters - including Pennywise
Meet the horror enthusiast who spends up to 12 hours turning herself into life-like scary characters - including Pennywise and Weeping Angels.
Natasha Jane Wood, 29, began turning herself into her favourite scary movie characters four years ago.
After studying special effects makeup at Bolton University in 2019, she became inspired by her love of all things horror.
She turns HERSELF into iconic horror characters - as well as putting a sinister twist on kids movie favourites.
Some of her most impressive transformations including turning herself into 'The Other Mother' from Coraline - complete with button eyes - and Pennywise the clown.
She has even turned herself into a possessed Winnie The Pooh - to the delight of over three MILLION followers.
Natasha, a full-time content creator from Darwen, Lancashire, said: "I'm obsessed with spooky stuff - it's my favourite thing in the world."
"When I do my makeup I put a horror film in the background so I can get inspiration and make the character as realistic as possible."
"Sometimes the looks can take up to 12 hours to do when I'm filming them for a video."
"But the time goes by so quickly because of how focused I am - I barely notice how much time has passed!"
Natasha used to "sneak downstairs" and watch her favourite gory blockbusters when she was a young girl."
After studying special effects makeup, she honed her skills during the pandemic and began uploading scary looks to TikTok, and later YouTube.
Now her full-time career, she has turned herself into nearly every scary character you can imagine.
She uses not only makeup and face paints, but SFX products including latex, foam clay and skin-safe adhesives.
While 'smaller' looks can take two or three hours, larger projects can take more than 12.
When she made 'Art The Clown', from the Terrifier franchise, she took six hours because she was building up the special effects products to create the face shape.
Her creepy Winnie The Pooh took seven hours and involved using lots of SFX products.
And Pennywise took a full 12 hours because she spent so long creating the clown's iconic big head.
She said: "It takes so long because when you're using SFX products, you can't put on one big lump."
"You have to add small layers at a time."
She even once turned herself into 'Lava Girl' using real clay - and said she "still finds flakes of clay on the floor" to this day."
Natasha said: "It doesn't all go perfectly - once I used a latex I bought online and I had to rip it off half way through."
"There was so much ammonia in it that my eyes were streaming and my face was blotchy and red!"
"It can take up to an hour to take off a full look as well, because you can't just rip them off."
"It can be a bit suffocating sometimes when you just want it off your face afterwards!"
"Some of the materials are really hard to use, but it brings everything to life so I still love using them."
