US Ambassador does Bollywood dance for Diwali celebration in India
This is the amusing moment a U.S. Ambassador performed a Bollywood dance during a Diwali celebration in India.
The U.S. Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, 53, showcased his dancing skills at the Festival of Lights in Delhi on October 30.
Footage shows the Ambassador dressed in a brown kurta and sunglasses, grooving to the upbeat Hindi hit song 'Tauba Tauba' alongside his colleagues on stage.
Eric said: 'As we celebrate the journey of light, we also honour the invaluable contributions of Indian Americans who deepen the US-India bond.
'From New Delhi to D.C., may the light of Diwali illuminate every corner of the world and spread the message of peace and prosperity,' he added.
Ambassador Garcetti has been actively participating in Indian festivals. Last year, during a Diwali celebration at the US Embassy, he danced to the popular Hindi song 'Chaiyya Chaiyya'.
US President Joe Biden also hosted a Diwali event at the White House, attended by over 600 prominent Indian Americans, including lawmakers, government officials, and business leaders.
Diwali is a Hindu festival of lights, celebrated by Indian religions such as Jainism and Sikhism. The celebration symbolises the spiritual 'victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.'
