A helicopter spun out of control and crashed into a parked plane at an airport in Texas.

The Robinson R44 was taking off from the Pearland Regional Airport when it whirled, moving sideways and slamming onto the aircraft on October 27 morning.

CCTV footage shows the chopper twirling with only the pilot onboard. Its tail hit the ground and snapped off before hitting the other plane.

Its blade kept hitting the white plane and tore away before the engine finally died.

Moments later, three airport staff members rushed to help remove the pilot from the R44. Medics were called to the scene, but the pilot was unhurt.

The Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement: 'A Robinson R44 helicopter crashed into a parked aircraft during takeoff from Pearland Regional Airport in Houston, Texas, around 8:35 a.m. local time on Sunday, October 27. Only the pilot was on board. The FAA will investigate.'

It was unclear what caused the crash, but the authorities started an investigation.
