The revision of the electoral list in Cote d'Ivoire is underway in preparation for next year's presidential election.
Since October 19, teams of three agents in Abidjan and other cities have been conducting the revision at enrollment centers.
To be eligible to vote, individuals must be an Ivorian, at least 18 years old, possess civil and political rights, and be registered on the electoral list, according to the Independent Electoral Commission (CEI).
SOUNDBITE 1 (French): ROSELINE TOUBATE, Staff member of voter registration center
"For those who are registering for the first time, we only need their ID card or the receipt of their application for an ID card. For those who are already registered, if they want to change their voting area, they need to bring their ID card and certificate of residence in their new place of residence, which is all we need."
SOUNDBITE 2 (French): GOTIER ADJOUMANI, Voter
"This is my first time participating in an election. I hope my candidate can win the presidential election. I also hope that my country can develop better."
Cote d'Ivoire has 12,089 enrollment centers within the country and in embassies and consulates abroad.
The CEI forecasts that about 4.5 million new applicants will register by the end of the revision operation, which will conclude on November 10.
