Vehicles hit unmarked speed bump and fly through the air
Footage shows vehicles hitting an unmarked speed bump, sending them flying through the air in India.
In the video, a white car is seen momentarily lifted off the ground as it speeds over the breaker on Golf Course Road in Gurugram on October 28. An oncoming truck also goes airborne when the driver not seeing the hump.
Local media reported that the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) confirmed the incidents occurred at that location.
They said officials are constructing a tabletop crossing near La Lagune in Sector 54, known for speeding and road accidents.
A GMDA official said: 'After the construction of the tabletop crossing on one side of the road, DLF representatives and its security staff with 50-odd bouncers stopped the contractor from carrying out work further on the night of October 26.
'They told the official at the site that they would remove the crossing. We have apprised the matter to the GMDA CEO and a meeting has been called on Tuesday to decide on how to proceed further.'
The GMDA official also noted the authority was authorized by the District Road Safety Committee to build the tabletop crossing after a pedestrian was killed by a speeding vehicle.
However, the one on Golf Course Road lacks zebra crossing markings and safety features.
Reports indicate that over the past three years, the stretch near La Lagune has encountered seven crashes, resulting in three fatalities and four critical injuries due to speeding.
