A tuktuk crashed into a highway light and overturned into a ditch in the Philippines.

CCTV footage shows the vehicle veering off the road before slamming into a pole in Cotabato, the Philippines, on October 27.

It tumbled down, flipping over twice, before settling on its side in the dry paddy fields.

Concerned motorists stopped to help pull the motorcycle with a sidecar attached to higher ground. They tended to the driver who was shaken but otherwise unharmed and he carried on with his journey.

Local official Erwin Angulo said: 'The driver appeared to be a bit shaken up during the rescue. He was not hurt but his tuktuk was a little bit damaged.'

Road accidents in the Philippines are caused by inadequate infrastructure, heavy traffic, and risky driving behaviours.

Poorly maintained roads with potholes and insufficient lighting make driving conditions unsafe. Urban areas face high congestion levels, and drivers often engage in reckless habits like speeding and abrupt lane changes.
