Firemen retrieved a car that was swept into a river during a storm in Italy.

Footage shows the emergency responders using an amphibious excavator to lift the vehicles off the Bormida River in Cairo Montenotte, Savona province, on October 31.

The clearing operation began when the water from the swollen river receded.

Savona is in the northern Italian region of Liguria, which has been battered by heavy rainfall and thunderstorms since October 25.

Authorities issued mandatory evacuations as floodwaters and debris caused bridges, railway networks, and roads impassable.
