This is the dramatic moment police officers saved a driver from a burning car wreckage in Washington.

Jacob Shook was trapped inside the vehicle following a crash in King County, prompting deputies and locals to rush to his rescue on October 9.

Footage shows the men running towards the burning four-wheeler and pulling the victim to safety.

Jacob said: 'My interaction with law enforcement has always been a negative experience. To see the other side of them, putting their safety on the line to save me, I just want to tell them thank you.'

The victim reportedly suffered severe injuries, including six broken ribs, a ruptured bladder, and third-degree burns on both legs.

He said that he left work early because he was feeling unwell and exhausted while driving before the incident occurred.
