Two geese were seen battling through the wind and rain brought by Typhoon Kong-rey in Taiwan on October 31.

The pair of farm animals were caught in the deluge battering Chenggong Town in Taitung County on Thursday afternoon.

Footage shows the birds straining their necks, leaning forward into the driving gusts to avoid being blown away. Both of them survived and managed to take shelter until the winds subsided.

The fimer said: 'The ducks and geese on my farm faced the typhoon head on.'

Typhoon Kong-rey lashed the Philippines before impacting Taiwan and moving onto the Communist mainland where it was downgraded to a severe tropical storm.

Officials in Taiwan said that at least one person has died and 73 people have been injured in storm-related accidents. Authorities have evacuated nearly 10,000 people to shelters.
