US: Illegal Immigrants Jump from Moving Car During High-Speed Chase Led by Teen Smuggler
United States - October 23, 2024 On October 23, a dramatic high-speed pursuit unfolded as DPS Troopers chased a teenage smuggler driving a Buick Encore. The 17-year-old driver, Jesus Gonzalez, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, allowed five other illegal immigrants to jump from the moving vehicle in a desperate bid to escape capture along train tracks. Gonzalez then veered off-road, eventually abandoning the vehicle and fleeing into the brush. After a foot chase, Troopers apprehended him and charged him with evading arrest and smuggling persons. All five illegal immigrants who bailed from the car were also apprehended and referred to Border Patrol for processing.
