STORYLINE:

The China International Import Expo (CIIE) is an open platform filled with opportunities, said a New Zealand businessman.

Roy Van Den Hurk is the general manager of Theland Global R&D, Milk New Zealand Dairy Ltd., a dairy company based in New Zealand.

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): ROY VAN DEN HURK, General manager of Theland Global R&D, Milk New Zealand Dairy Ltd.
"Theland has participated in every CIIE for seven consecutive years, and this marks my sixth year attending. Each visit brings something new. When we first joined the CIIE in 2018, Theland was still a small exhibitor. However, the trade facilitation policies at CIIE offered us enormous opportunities as a small-to-medium exhibitor."

Hurk said the CIIE is a platform that effectively connects exhibitors to the Chinese market

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): ROY VAN DEN HURK, General manager of Theland Global R&D, Milk New Zealand Dairy Ltd.
"On one hand, it (CIIE) provides a high-level procurement platform, facilitating on-site connections between exhibitors and a strong pool of professional buyers, which greatly enhances supply-demand efficiency.
On the other hand, the CIIE's spillover effect accelerates the rollout of new products.
For example, Theland's 4.0 milk, launched at the CIIE, expanded from first and second-tier cities to small counties in three months -- a process that usually takes a year.
This fourfold increase in speed has allowed us to establish roots in the Chinese market and continuously grow."

The 7th CIIE is scheduled to be held in Shanghai from Nov. 5 to 10.

Over the years, Theland's booth at the CIIE has grown from 50 square meters to 200 square meters.

SOUNDBITE 3 (English): ROY VAN DEN HURK, General manager of Theland Global R&D, Milk New Zealand Dairy Ltd.
"Each CIIE offers us invaluable insight into global strategic planning in the Chinese market.
Every year, we are impressed by the new elements: new policies, trends, and technologies, all converging at the CIIE, providing Theland with fresh guidance for growth.
Moving forward, we are committed to deepening our roots in China, continuing investment in our farm-to-table supply chain, and bringing New Zealand's premium milk to China."
