Excavator engulfed by liquefaction in Indonesia, operator miraculously escapes [[TEST]]
A shocking and terrifying natural phenomenon occurred in Desa Saloadak, Tobadak District, Mamuju Tengah Regency on Saturday (2/11/2024). An excavator working on a road improvement project was suddenly swallowed by liquefaction. Fortunately, the equipment operator managed to save himself.
The ground on the left side of the road moved rapidly to cover the road and bury the excavator is clearly visible. The equipment operator quickly exited and climbed up through the bucket to jump to safe ground.
This incident caused severe damage to a 200-meter long road and isolated four villages in the surrounding area. The Coordinator of the Data and Information Center of the Mamuju Tengah BPBD, Rezky Ilhamsyah, confirmed the incident and said that his party had carried out emergency handling efforts.
