This is the shocking moment a family hurled a fuel tank at their noisy neighbours during a religious festival in India.

The relatives were reportedly irritated when locals ignored their request to refrain from setting off firecrackers for the Hindu Diwali festival in Hyderabad on November 1.

The neighbours had allegedly flouted a fireworks ban during the celebrations. No injuries were reported.

Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a major Hindu festival celebrating the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. Traditionally, families light oil lamps, set off fireworks, exchange sweets, and pray to Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, to usher in prosperity for the coming year.
