This is the heartwarming moment firemen saved two dogs stranded in a well in Russia.

Nearby residents were alerted when they heard the hapless pair, known as the 'acrobatic brothers', barking for help while stuck inside the water-filled pit in Vyshny Volochyok, Tver Oblast, on October 31.

The incident prompted locals to contact the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry to retrieve the animals upon realising that they were unable to save the canines themselves.

Footage shows the rescuers using a fire hose, a ladder, and a pole. One of the officials descended into the hole to attach ropes to the dogs, which were then carefully hoisted back to safety.

The animals reportedly did not sustain any serious injuries from the incident.
