"China is a very important market. It's actually the largest beer market in the world, so about one beer out of every four beers consumed in the world is consumed in China."

Since entering China in 1984, Budweiser has always been optimistic about the prospects of the Chinese market, said Craps, adding that the brewer has never stopped investing in China.

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): JAN CRAPS, CEO and Co-Chair of Budweiser APAC
"Today, we have 30 breweries in China, so you see the start of a very big story. We apply high tech in our supply chain, so we have 5G smart breweries. We work together to digitize the sales system as well. We already have more than 250 cities for BEES, which is our digital platform for sales."

Looking ahead, Craps said the company aims to go green.

SOUNDBITE 3 (English): JAN CRAPS, CEO and Co-Chair of Budweiser APAC
"We launched already three carbon-neutral breweries.
Now our new commitment is that we want to reach a full supply chain carbon neutrality by 2040, about 15 years from now."
