Flight attendant kneels to apologise to 'stroppy business class passenger' for typhoon
A flight attendant was seen kneeling to apologise to a stroppy business class passengers due to delays caused by the typhoon.
China Airlines flight CI782, which was flying from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, attempted to land at Taoyuan International Airport in Taiwan but failed three times due to Typhoon Kong-rey on October 31.
The Airbus A350 circled around the airspace, waiting to land, but it was diverted to Kaohsiung International Airport, causing some irate passengers to confront the crew. The flight was almost two hours late due to the extreme weather.
Footage shows a middle-aged male China Airlines attendant down on his knee in the middle of the aisle as a furious passenger towers over him with his hands firmly on his hips.
China Airlines later said in a statement: 'The air and ground staff put safety first and crouched down to explain the situation.'
China Airlines is Taiwan's national carrier, based at Taoyuan International Airport near Taipei. Despite its name, it is not associated with the People's Republic of China but is owned by the Taiwanese government.
Typhoon Kong-rey lashed the Philippines before impacting Taiwan and moving onto the Communist mainland where it was downgraded to a severe tropical storm.
Officials in Taiwan said that at least three people has died and 690 people have been injured in storm-related accidents. Authorities have evacuated nearly 10,000 people to shelters.
