Bulgaria: New nuclear capacities - Kozloduy NPP
Sofia, Bulgaria - November 04, 2024 Westinghouse Electric Company, Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. and "Kozloduy NPP - New Powers" signed a contract for engineering services for two reactors with AP1000 technology, which are planned to be built at the site in Kozloduy. The first reactor should enter into operation in 2035. The signing in Sofia was attended by the Bulgarian Prime Minister, the Bulgarian Minister of Energy, the US Ambassador to Bulgaria, the Executive Director of "Kozloduy NPP - New Capacities", the Senior Vice President for "Energy Systems" at Westinghouse and the president of Hyundai E&C.
