Gaza Strip - November 04, 2024 The worsening shortage of medicine is threatening the lives of thousands of patients in the Gaza Strip, who are suffering both mental and physical pains in the war-torn predicament caused by unscrupulous Israeli bombardment and blockade. The Gaza media office said on Monday that due to Israel's ongoing airstrikes and blockade, all hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip have ceased operations because they cannot receive humanitarian aids including medicines and other medical supplies. Ide Hamada and his family live in a tent camp in central Gaza. These days, it is not only the lack of food and clothing that troubles them, but also the health issues of his elderly father. Over 80 years old, Ide's father suffers from severe hypertension, diabetes, and osteoporosis. However, they have been unable to obtain any new medication for nearly three months. Ide constantly fears that his father may succumb to his illnesses due to the lack of treatment. In addition to the large number of patients with chronic illnesses and injuries, the rapid deterioration of sanitary conditions has led to the swift spread of infectious diseases among the population, particularly in tents and camps where displaced people are living. These patients with infectious diseases are unable to receive effective treatment due to the severe shortage of medications. Shotlist: Gaza Strip - Nov 4, 2024: 1.
