This is the hilarious moment a mariachi band member chased a wild bear away from a campsite by playing the trumpet.

While Jilian Gonzales and Mateo Mavero Duran were staying at a camping ground in Lake Tahoe, California, USA, they were warned about wild animals nearby.

Hilarious footage shows Mateo heeding rangers’ advice by trying to scare away black bears with a loud noise.

Through the dawn light Mateo blasted a classic mariachi tune from his trumpet and the unmistakeable shape of the bear ran away.

Jilian said: “Mateo had never tried this before but the rangers warned us there were bears in the area and to be ready to scare them away with loud noises.

“We had heard multiple campsites around us blowing airhorns and yelling that the bear was coming so he grabbed his trumpet. It was comic relief, like a real life cartoon.

“Our neighbours were laughing at the mariachi music and we even went over to serenade a group around the campfire later that night.

“We had multiple run ins with the bear. At the first run in, the bear decided to run up a tree and throw pine cones at our neighbours who were making lunch.

“We're grateful that our music gives us the opportunity to travel. It's always an adventure with The Outlaw Mariachi and we're excited to see what the future holds.”
