This is the hilarious moment a mischievous toddler plays a prank on a grown man by repeatedly opening a lift door while hiding behind a wall.

CCTV footage shows the youngster perched on a loaded sack to reach the lift button in a building in Guangzhou, China, on October 21.

A man is seen standing inside the lift, transporting other sacks to an upper floor, waiting for the door to close and start going up.

But just as he sits down and the entrances are about to close, they open again when the toddler quietly presses the 'open door' button.

Confused and unable to see the child from behind the wall, the man gets up and checks if anything is blocking the lift door.

He determines that the door seems fine, and when it starts closing again, he gets back inside the lift.

But the child hits the button again and repeats the prank several times.

It continues for over a minute before a woman walks in and sees the child stifling a giggle, caught mid-prank.

Only then does the man realise he's been fooled, and the two adults burst out laughing as the video ends.
