A huge python occupied a parking space, preventing drivers from stopping there.

Footage shows the 10ft (3 metres) reptile lying in the middle of the spot, looking like a parking hog, as seen by a family looking for a vacant slot at a mall in Selangor, Malaysia, on November 1.

The drivers continued on their way and reported the animal sighting to security guards.

It was unclear how the animal had gotten there, but onlooker Nashroy Budiman said it might have slithered out of a previously parked car.

She said: 'It might have been from another vehicle. It lay perfectly in the middle of the parking spot.'

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where it lives in forests, swamps, canals, and even cities, causing conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats, and other snakes.
