SOUNDBITE (English): DUSAN BELLA, Former Slovak ambassador to China
"It's a great privilege to have the national pavilion in the Shanghai import international fair. After a few years, this international fair became one of the most important trade fairs, not only in China, but in the world.
So everybody tries to be there at that time to exhibit their products, to show attractions of their countries, especially for investors.
So for Slovakia, it's a great opportunity.
I think we will take use of this opportunity and it will contribute to betterment of our economic and trade relations.
This import international fair, it's another step for China to open up to the global economy and to the world.
Each event like this contributes to global economic recovery, and especially in China, because China is the engine of the global economy, and is contributing more than one third to global economic growth.
I was very proud when I was there a few years ago that we could exhibit a Slovak flying car.
But the national pavilion is great promotion for each country and its economy.
Innovation and technology are driving this world, especially economics. You can see many inventions there and many innovative solutions, many exhibitors are coming there either to show what they invented or to inspire.
It's very important to help developing countries and especially least developed countries in such a way to inspire them because countries like yours and many others in Asia provide a lot of very good examples of how the country can change from very poor to a prosperous country."
