STORYLINE:

Autumn is the season when fruits and vegetables from Xinjiang enter the market in large quantities.

At the Horgos port between China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Kazakhstan, vegetables and fruits can enter Kazakh supermarkets and be served to Kazakh consumers the same day they are picked.

The continuous ease of customs clearance between the two countries is even more crucial than the convenient transportation. In the past, complicated procedures led to fruit and vegetable products' long-time stay at the port. Right now, it takes only an hour for the products to be transported by trucks to Almaty, a major city in Central Asia.

At the same time, products such as honey and chocolate from Kazakhstan can also quickly enter Chinese supermarkets.
