Watch this DIY high-powered microscope is made from old glue stick
A man built an improvised high-powered microscope using an old glue stick.
He created the portable optical instrument with materials such as lenses and a white LED, taping them securely onto the cylindrical container in Henan, China, on October 12.
Footage shows him placing a thin layer of onion skin on a tiny glass slide to hold the specimen. He then looked through the improvised eyepiece to observe the vegetable's cells.
In 1590, Hans and Zacharias Janssen, a Dutch father-and-son team of spectacle-makers, created the first microscope.
