A passenger broke her leg gliding down a giant indoor slide at the Changi Airport in Singapore.

Susan Lai and her friends were waiting for their flight to Malaysia after a three-day holiday when she tried the free-to-use attraction in the departure hall on November 4.

Footage shows Susan entering through the gates and slipping down the tube, bidding her companions goodbye. The soles of her running shoes bumped on the surface, but she enjoyed it overall, so she went for a second try.

She gave it another go but did not bring her phone to record herself so she could secure her skirt.

Her friend recorded her from the second-floor balcony, documenting her as she screamed inside the tube.

Footage shows Susan shrieking on her way down before there was a thud. The video then cut to her being wheeled on a stretcher to an ambulance while her right leg was bandaged from the injury.

Susan said: 'The slide at Changi Airport is super dangerous. The doctors told me I was not the first person to have been injured there.

'The area was also away from people. If something happens, it is like calling the heavens for help.'

Susan added she sat in pain for almost half an hour while her friends searched for airport staff members. She was taken to Changi Hospital, where she was found to have two broken bones in her right calf.

She said: 'It is super troublesome to be injured there. You cannot board the plane and return to your country.

'You need a medical report to claim insurance, but the hospital will need six weeks to provide that.'

Susan remains in Singapore and will undergo surgery on her broken bones.

She said: 'It hurts so much that I tremble all over when I do not take painkillers. I hope there will not be another person who is overjoyed and then suffers from it.'

The giant slide at Changi Airport is known as the 'Slide @ T3'. It is located in Terminal 3 of the airport and is one of the largest indoor slides in Singapore, spanning 39ft (12 metres) high and 115 ft (35 metres) long.
