Elderly woman defends herself against bull attack in India
This is the moment an elderly woman defends herself against a bull attack in India.
Footage shows the black bovine forcefully pulling the woman to the ground, dragging her, and launching a brutal attack on her in Gali No. 8, Phase 4, Aya Nagar, Delhi, on October 30.
She bravely fought back by grabbing the bull's mouth and horns, preventing further harm.
Bystanders and neighbours rushed to the scene upon hearing the woman's cries for help, armed with sticks to scare the bull away.
A courageous man also arrived and grabbed the bull by the horn while another onlooker dragged the woman away from the beast.
Local media reported that the woman was injured and taken to a nearby medical facility for first aid.
India has hundreds of thousands of cows roaming its streets.
It is party due to devout locals who follow Hindu customs, with cows regarded as sacred animals that cannot be eaten or slaughtered once they have stopped producing milk. The majority of states ban the sale or slaughter of cows.
Instead of dealing with the economic burden of keeping their spent cattle, many farmers let the beasts roam the streets - leading to chaos when the animals become agitated and turn their fury on humans.
