A bullet train bridge collapsed, killing three workers at a construction site in India.

The incident took place along the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train line in Anand district, Gujarat, on Tuesday evening, November 5.

The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), responsible for the project, stated that a temporary steel and concrete block structure used for well foundation work had collapsed.

Police said three workers lost their lives in the incident while one was receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.

Anand Fire Officer Dharmesh Gor reported that two of the trapped laborers succumbed to their injuries immediately after being trapped behind concrete blocks.

One of the victims who was rescued alive later passed away at the hospital.

Locals also joined the rescue operation, assisting excavators and cranes to lift the concrete blocks and free the victims.

The NHSRCL has initiated a thorough technical investigation to determine the cause of the collapse.
