Monkey steals bun from store and escapes by scaling escalator
This is the shocking moment a monkey stole a bun from a store and escaped by scaling an escalator.
A passing local spotted the long-tailed macaque carrying the packet of bread at King Albert Park MRT in Singapore on October 23.
Footage shows the pilfering primate climbing the moving stairs.
Six days earlier, a staff member encountered a monkey and handed it a box of food, but the animal ran away, escaping the man.
The National Parks Board explained that the long-tailed macaque is one of Singapore's native primate species and typically inhabits forested areas.
Authorities advise the public not to feed the monkeys.
