US, Los Angeles: Pomona CHP Crashes Into Wrong Way Drunk Driver on 10 Freeway Innocent Driver Speaks On Camera
Los Angeles, United States - November 07, 2024 11/07/2024 02:39 am (GMT-0800) POMONA, Calif. – CHP from the Rancho Cucamonga station and CHP from the Baldwin Park office observed a wrong-way driver traveling westbound in eastbound lanes to the 10 Freeway in the city of Ontario. Multiple CHP officers from the Baldwin Park office were able to get into position and sideswipe the wrong-way driver, causing the vehicle to spin and come to a stop on the eastbound 10 Freeway at the 57 Freeway in the city of Pomona. The wrong-way driver struck an innocent motorist traveling to work on the eastbound 10 Freeway when it was going the wrong way. The two officers who stopped the wrong-way driver were able to exit the patrol unit and take the suspect into custody. CHP officers also checked on the innocent driver, who was struck but was not hurt. The two officers were assessed by firefighters but not transported to a hospital. The suspect and innocent driver were also evaluated by firefighters but not transported. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence. The two CHP officers from the Baldwin Park station stopped the wrong-way driver on the 10 Freeway, saving multiple lives.
