Fresh from the bars, the filmer witnessed a scene that left him both shocked and incredulous: a man walking directly into the path of a very large black bear, seemingly unaware of the danger.

Despite his warnings to watch out, he treated the bear like a stray dog, casually strolling past as if it were nothing. The bear, mildly agitated, challenged him briefly before the man walked away unscathed, unaware of how lucky he was.

During a late night after the bars on the night of Saturday November 2. I encountered a man on street that seemed to be oblivious to the very large black bear, whose path he was walking right into. I tried my best to warn hin about the bear, but the man didn’t seem to care of be worries about it. He proceeded to walk right but to the black bear and almost treat like a street dog while the bear challenged his to step away. The man casually walked around the bear un aware of how lucky he was that he did not sustain any injuries or an attack. The bear didn't seem overly disruptive so the was left alone. Bears in Whistler Village are a common sighting and usually aren't too disruptive.
