Factory fire injures 16 in India
A factory fire in India left 16 people injured, with one in serious condition.
A blaze erupted at Bhugaon Steel Company in Wardha district on Wednesday evening, November 6, injuring several workers.
Footage shows the building engulfed in flames, with an explosion visible on the video.
Authorities have confirmed that all the affected workers have been admitted to the hospital, with one employee remaining in critical condition following the incident.
Wardha District Collector Rahul Kardile said: '16 workers were injured after a fire broke out at Bhugaon Steel Company in Wardha district.
'All the injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. One of them is in critical condition.
'The fire has been brought under control. An inquiry has been started as to how exactly this incident took place. The administration team has reached the spot.'
Another fire occurred on Wednesday at Amrutaya Spa & Gym in Surat, Gujarat, killing two employees.
The gym was closed then, but the spa was open, leading authorities to suspect an electrical short circuit as the cause of the fire.
Divisional Fire Officer Harish Gadhvi mentioned that the salon and gym shared the same floor, with five people present in the salon during the fire.
Two individuals were unable to escape, while three others managed to do so. The deceased women, aged between 25 and 27, were identified as being from the northeast region.
In a separate incident, a two-story business building in Ludhiana, Punjab, was also damaged by fire around 7 pm on Wednesday, though no fatalities were reported.
