A pet raccoon was caught raiding its owner's kitchen to look for food.

Footage shows the four-year-old mammal named Babebe perched on the edge of a sink while sniffing around in their home in Chonburi, Thailand, on November 3.

Babebe found a baby bottle teat and licked it, thinking it was edible, until its owner spotted it.

Pet owner Puiifaii said: 'Babebe tried to steal the baby bottle nipple.'

Racoons are medium-sized mammals native to North America, easily recognised by their distinctive black mask of fur around their eyes and their ringed tails. They are known for their problem-solving skills, making them proficient at opening containers, doors, and windows to find food or shelter.
