A wooden racing boat caught fire on a canal in Thailand.

Footage captured by Mit Lamyai and the Phiromsilp dock crew shows a speedboat engulfed in flames in Samut Sakhon on November 2. The owner, Tao, promptly dives into the water to extinguish the blaze.

Reports indicate that Tao had attended a racing event during the Kathin ceremony at Wat Rong Khe in Ban Phaeo district.

Tao reportedly left the event around 6 pm, and approximately five minutes later, the boat caught fire.

A nearby craft tried accelerating its engine to spray water onto the burning vessel.

However, due to spilled oil, Tao had to pull the boat closer to shore and, with help from others, eventually sank it into the water to put out the flames.

Tao remained unharmed in the incident, though the water's surface was covered with spilled oil.
