Huge python sparks panic in schoolyard in Thailand
A huge python sparked panic among teachers and students in a schoolyard in Thailand.
The reptile was spotted slithering through the bushes near the wall at Piyamart School in Phayao on November 7, prompting the faculty to report it to authorities.
Footage shows rescuers successfully capturing the 13ft (4 metres) serpent.
It was placed in a sack and will be released back into the wild.
The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals, and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans.
The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats, and other snakes.
