Tehran, Iran Ahu Daryaei, an Iranian student who publicly removed her clothes in a protest against the mandatory hijab on November 3, has reportedly been sent to a psychiatric hospital for forced treatment. IranWire reports that Daryaei, who has no prior history of mental health issues, has not been seen since the protest. Iran’s Science Minister, Hossein Simai Sarraf, stated that Daryaei was experiencing "family and psychological problems" and that her transfer to the mental hospital was done "with the support of her family." The incident has raised concerns among human rights advocates about the treatment of dissenting voices in Iran.
