Ducks were rescued as the Mountain Fire impacted California.

Footage shows a group of quacking birds being ushered into a secure, fenced area at a shelter in Camarillo on November 7.

Ventura County Animal Services evacuated 80 of the ducks to protect them from the fire, which had burned 20,765 acres, destroyed numerous homes, and was only seven per cent contained by Friday.

The ducks were returned to their homes the following day after evacuation orders were lifted.

A staff member from Ventura County Animal Services said: 'Alright. We have 80 ducks being reclaimed by their owner after evacuation orders were lifted. They're all heading back home. This is great.'

Cal Fire reported that the blaze started on November 6, and the cause is still under investigation. Six individuals were reportedly injured in the fire incident.
