This is the adorable moment a friendly rat walked over to a man to receive neck rubs.

Lin Xiaoqin spotted the brown mouse inside his home in Taipei, Taiwan, on November 3.

Footage shows the rodent sniffing the man's hand before ambling toward him. The homeowner then gently held it.

He said: 'I can't believe there's a mouse inside my house. I am glad it did not bite me.'

Mice are social animals that live in groups and care for each other. They enjoy playing, wrestling, and sleeping together.

However, it is not recommended to hold or pet a wild mouse, as it can carry diseases that may make people sick, including hantavirus, which can cause hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS).
