Snake wranglers spent five hours catching a stubborn cobra in Thailand.

Footage shows the serpent underneath the vehicle, with authorities working together to capture it in Chiang Mai.

Reports stated that a woman saw the king cobra slithering near the hood of her car, prompting her to call a rescue team.

The reptile kept slipping away, moving all around the vehicle. It took several hours before the team finally succeeded in capturing it.

The king cobra is a venomous snake native to Asia, with a range spanning from the Indian Subcontinent through Southeast Asia to southern China.

Typically, it measures between 10.4ft (3.18 metres) and 13.1ft (4 metres) in length, with a record length of 19.2ft (5.85 metres), making it the longest venomous snake in the world.

The species is classified as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List and is listed under Appendix II of CITES, which regulates its trade to protect its population from further decline.
