This is the shocking moment a pressure cooker explodes in a violent blast, narrowly missing a man's face as he prepares food at a street stall.

The explosion was captured on CCTV in Jieyang, Guangdong, China, on Sunday night, November 3.

Footage shows the man tossing ingredients into a wok as he prepares a meal, seemingly for a female customer standing a few feet away, scrolling on her phone.

Suddenly, the pressure cooker sitting next to the wok detonates, sending the lid flying into the air as a huge cloud of steam and smoke forms.

The lid and the hot air released from the blast almost strike the man's face, but he manages to dodge it by mere inches, quickly escaping to safety.

Stunned stall workers and the woman, still holding her phone, gasp and cover their mouths in shock as the video ends.

No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the blast is currently unknown.
