Officers free trapped deer from 103-year-old woman's room in nursing home
This is the heroic moment officers free a trapped deer from a 103-year-old woman's room in a nursing home.
Bodycam footage shows the Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety authorities responding to an urgent call from Arbor North Living, an assisted living facility in Blackman Charter Township, Michigan, on November 4.
A startled buck had crashed into one of the resident's rooms, thrashing around and leaving blood throughout the area.
Investigators believe the deer entered by jumping through an open window in the resident's bedroom.
In its attempt to escape, it caused extensive damage throughout the apartment, likely due to injuries sustained during the initial break-in.
Staff members, unable to reach the elderly resident, reported that the buck had blocked all access points and showed signs of distress.
Upon arrival, two officers spotted the deer standing near locked glass patio doors.
The officers used their batons and flashlights to break through the doors, creating a path for the buck to escape.
The dramatic video clip captures the moment the deer runs through the shattered door, darting across the deck and disappearing into the night.
After ensuring the apartment was safe, the officers located the 103-year-old resident, who was conscious and alert but had sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
She was then taken to the hospital for medical care.
