STORYLINE:

The 46th Interliber book fair opened Tuesday in Zagreb, Croatia. 

Across over 13,000 square meters of exhibition space, more than 300 exhibitors from Croatia and abroad are presenting their publications as part of a diverse program that includes numerous cultural and professional events.

"Interliber is the oldest book fair in Croatia. The significance of the fair is well recognized. All Croatian publishers are present here, and this is a once-a-year event where we showcase our programs and meet our audience, as all of us do not have bookstores. So, it is very significant for publishers in Croatia."

"We hope that reading will spread more every day. We are pleased that trends are improving, although we are still fighting for every new reader."

Visitors have access to a variety of programs, including professional conferences, panel discussions, award ceremonies, lectures, children's performances, musical acts, and book and author promotions.

Held under the patronage of the City of Zagreb and the Croatian Ministry of Culture, the book fair will last until Nov. 17.
